Lindsay Elizabeth Boolos and Robert Elliott Browning were united in marriage on May 17 at six o’clock in the evening at First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Tim Brown.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Andrew Boolos of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Faye Brooks Daniels of Vicksburg and the late David Keith Daniels and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Howard Boolos, all of Vicksburg.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Robert Browning Jr. of Flowood. He is the grandson of the late Jane Cathey Wilkerson of Brandon, the late Charles Willis Wilkerson Jr. of Canton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Robert Browning Sr. of Pascagoula.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin A-line designer gown featuring a pointed scoop neckline and hand-beaded 3D floral appliques. A row of satin-covered buttons trailed down the back of the chapel length train. A two tier, waltz length raw-cut veil featuring scattered pearls complimented her gown. She wore a pair of diamond earrings, a wedding day gift from her parents, made for her from a ring belonging to her late grandmother. She also wore a blue aquamarine and diamond ring “borrowed” from the mother of the bridegroom.
The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, David Austin roses, anemones and sweet pea blossoms which were wrapped in an heirloom lace chapel cap that belonged to her paternal grandmother.
The church’s exterior columns were crowned with floral arrangements and cascading greenery. Inside, a crescent-shaped floral arch framed the altar, complemented by matching altar pieces and aisle markers featuring roses, tulips and hydrangeas.
Brittany Boolos Wood, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Bethany Rachelle Allen, Samantha Nicole Boolos, Shelby Claire Liddell, Lauren Browning Rabalais, sister of the bridegroom, Carlye Raven Smith and Carly Grace Stribling. Emma Jane Rabalais and Eva Marie Rabalais, nieces of the bridegroom, were flower girls. Natalie Wood Matthews served as proxy bride. Program attendants were Lilly Joanna Stribling and Olivia Joy Stribling.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Riley Brooks Adcock, Brooks Andrew Boolos, brother of the bride, Walker Semmes Dowell, William Marshall Green, Kenneth Sellers Jackson and James Grant Rabalais. Ushers were Samuel Walker Davidson and Joshua Dennis Hollingsworth. William Andrew Wood, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Nuptial music was performed by Sharon Penley, soprano; Barbara Tracy, organist; Emily Williams, violinist; and Jason Walker, tenor.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted the reception on the front lawn of their home. A lighted tree featuring orchids was a focal point under the expansive white tent. Floral centerpieces were placed throughout, enhancing the garden atmosphere. The four-tiered wedding cake included butterflies and flowers cascading down the center to resemble the details of the bride’s dress. The bridegroom’s table featured an assortment of pies, including the bridegroom’s favorite, chocolate bourbon pecan.
Dance music was provided by the Tip Tops band from Mobile.
Following the reception, the couple exited through a tunnel of sparklers. Driven away in a 1966 Mustang convertible, a backdrop of fireworks lit the evening sky.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the B’nai B’rith Literary Association, “The BB Club” in downtown Vicksburg. During the cocktail hour, guests were entertained by the music of Doug Hurd. The bride had her mother’s wedding dress re-designed and wore it for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is at home in Madison. The bridegroom is an ophthalmologist at the Eye Group of Mississippi and the bride is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Canopy Children’s Solutions.
