Brittany Ashlan Boolos of Jackson and Andrew Mauldin Wood of Oxford were wed April 22 at First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg. The Reverend Tim Brown officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Andrew Boolos of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. David Keith Daniels of Vicksburg and the late Mr. Daniels and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Howard Boolos of Vicksburg.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Naylor Wood of Oxford. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Dusty White of Memphis and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terry Miller Wood of Sarasota.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin designer ballgown. With an empire waist, the bodice featured a straight, strapless neckline. Satin-covered buttons cascaded down the back to the edge of her cathedral-length train. Her custom, royal cathedral-length veil was accented with pearls throughout and framed her gown with another spray of pearls around the edges. The bride carried a bouquet featuring white garden roses, freesia, ranunculus and spray roses. Loose stems of eucalyptus and Italian ruscus completed the design. Incorporated into her bouquet were a lace chapel cap that belonged to her late paternal grandmother, her mother’s vintage linen handkerchief monogrammed with her late grandfather’s initials and a pair of blue earrings her father brought her mother from his trip to the Holy Land.
Lindsay Elizabeth Boolos, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mallory Little Harthcock, matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Antici Britt, Anne Morgan Banquer Hood, Rebecca McKinney Martin, Natalie Wood Matthews, Carlye Raven Smith and Jeralyn Stuart Straughan. Delaney Nicole Vedros served as proxy bride. Program attendants were Shelby Claire Liddell and Carly Grace Stribling, cousin of the bride.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen included Brooks Andrew Boolos, brother of the bride; Alan Judson Cochet Jr.; James Hampton Matthews lV; William Ryan Nicholas; William Alfred Staton lll; James Austin Walne lll; and Timothy Kevan Wright. James Hampton Matthews V, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Wedding music was performed by Barbara Tracy, organist; Sharon Penley, soprano; Marta Szlubowska, violinist; and Jason Walker, tenor.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception on the front lawn of their home. The space was transformed into a venue anchored by a sailcloth tent and accentuated with chandeliers, up lighting and string lights. Surrounding the entrance of the tent was an overflowing arch of elaeagnus, smilax vine and variegated foliage. A mix of garden roses, blush roses, larkspur and other florals were illuminated by lanterns. Centered on a marble tray was the six-tiered wedding cake. A continuous garland of white David Austin garden roses transcended down each tier. Hanging behind the wedding cake was a gold hand painted monogram of the wedding couple with accents of smilax vine and flowers. The bridegroom’s cake featured a Buffalo Trace theme.
Dance music was provided by The Party Jammers band.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the B’nai B’rith Literary Association Building in downtown Vicksburg. Guests were treated to music by Ben Shaw during the cocktail hour.
