Canopy Children’s Solutions (Canopy), Mississippi’s largest nonprofit provider of behavioral health, educational and family support solutions, hosted its annual Children’s Mental Health Summit July 16–18, 2025, at the Sheraton Flowood The Refuge Hotel & Conference Center. This year’s theme, Responding to an Anxious Generation, addressed the critical intersection of mental health and the digital world, offering strategies to help children build resilience, balance and emotional well-being.
Presented by Regions Bank, the three-day summit gathered more than 300 professionals—including educators, mental health providers, child welfare workers, and community leaders—for keynote presentations and breakout sessions led by nationally recognized speaker Katherine Martinko, author of Childhood Unplugged: Practical Advice to Get Kids Off Screens and Find Balance; Gerry Brooks, principal, motivational speaker, and viral educator personality; and Vanessa McNeal, transformational life coach and founder of Authentically You.
"In today's digital world, children's mental health challenges are growing and so is the urgency to act. This summit is more than a gathering or a conference, it's a call to action. Canopy is proud to lead this charge – building a movement that puts hope and solutions at the center of children's mental health,” said Shea Hutchins, LCSW, Chief Solutions Officer, Canopy Children's Solutions.
The summit featured interactive breakout sessions covering topics such as screen-time balance, emotional regulation, behavioral health, and practical, evidence-based solutions that empower children and families to thrive.
"Regions is proud to support Canopy as it shares the common vision to make life better in the communities that we serve. Regions is honored again to play a role in Canopy’s vital educational events like the Children’s Mental Health Summit,” said John Howie, Commercial Banking Leader / Market Executive, Regions Bank.
