Madison Ann Copeland and Tanner Jeffrey Morgan were united in marriage Saturday, December 13 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church Madison. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Copeland of Madison. She is the granddaughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. Odean Puckett and Charlotte Copeland and the late Marlon Copeland of Natchez.
The bridegroom is the son of Jeffrey Morgan and Matilda Morgan. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morgan, and Opelia Church and the late Richard Church.
The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Breck Ladd.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Mikado wedding dress. The fit and flare silhouette featured a wide off the shoulder cuffed neckline. Covered buttons in the back ended with the chapel length train. Completing the ensemble the bride wore a cathedral length designer veil trimmed with lace. She carried a hand tied white bouquet of moundy white playa roses with satin fish tail ribbon.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Margot Collins. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Canoy, Gabriella Cook, Rachel McMorris, Francie Davis, Holly Hughes, Elizabeth Matthews, Colby Lathem, Katie Garrett Manor, Maggie McKinnis, Rachel Saxton, Mollie Seale, Brooke Paben and Brooke Thomas.
The bridegroom’s father served as the best man. Groomsmen were Hunter Askew, Zane Berry, Matthew Caulfield, Blake Collins, Zachery Cook, Dadrian Hughes, Isaiah Johnson and Justin Mary. Honorary Groomsman was Tyler James Morgan.
Program attendants were Cayce Moak and Adele Russell.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Old Capitol Inn. After the couple’s introductory dances, guests enjoyed a buffet featuring Southern favorites. Guests danced to the music of the Groove Factor band.
The traditional five-tiered bride’s cake was almond cake with almond buttercream icing. Each of the layers showcased a feature combining different styles of piping. The bridegroom’s cake was a three-layered tiramisu.
Following the reception, the newlyweds were chauffeured away in a 1941 Cadillac. After a wedding trip to Excellence Playa Mujeres, the couple currently live in Hattiesburg where the bride is in medical school at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and will graduate in May. The bridegroom is currently working as an electrician for Askew Heating and Electrical.
