Two new municipal court judges are on the bench in the city of Jackson.
Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba appointed Kevin B. Bass and Lilli Evans Bass as municipal judges and the city council confirmed the decision. Kevin B. Bass and Lilli Evans Bass are not related to each other.
Kevin B. Bass, who grew up in Jackson, is a 2007 cum laude graduate of Jackson State University and a 2011 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law.
He pledged to be a fair and impartial judge who follows the law.

“I’m eager to bring that experience home,” she said. “I’m born and raised in Jackson. Jackson has always been home.”
Lillie Bass said she believes in swift, efficient and fair justice.
“I hope to develop any programs possible for the betterment of our citizens, for the betterment of the system and to work with the existing judges and see how we can continue the greatness of municipal court but also bring my experiences to build on that and make it the best possible court system,” she said.
