The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a statement regarding the investigation at a Chunky business today.
According to reports from residents in Chunky, federal agents arrived around 9 a.m. and executed a search at Advanced Infusion Solutions, which is headquartered in Ridgeland.
FBI spokesperson Marshay Lawson responded to an email from The Newton County Appeal about the presence of FBI in Chunky.
"The FBI is conducting a court authorized law enforcement activity," Lawson said in an email. "To preserve the integrity and capabilities of the investigation, I cannot share details as this is an ongoing investigation. Currently, there is not a threat to the public, and I do not anticipate any additional updates today."
The Appeal has not confirmed if there were any arrests made during the search or what the nature of the search was.
WLBT in Jackson reported that an office building in Ridgeland was also raided. They did not indicate the name of the business name as of the time of this report.
The Appeal has not been able to confirm if the two are related at this time.
