Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Elza Turner of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Helen Irene Turner, to Ryan Benjamin Farthing of Winchester, Ky. He is the son of Lisa Isaacs Farthing and Randall Lee Farthing, both of Winchester, Ky.
Dr. Turner attended Mississippi College and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed residencies in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Louisville. She is currently serving as the Internal Medicine Chief Resident for Education and plans to enter a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine for adults and children.
The prospective bridegroom received his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University and his master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Farthing is a Neurology Nurse Practitioner with Baptist Health Medical Group in Lexington, Ky.
An October wedding is planned.
