Ethelene Sellars Stubbs went to be with her Lord on November 24, 2025. Ethelene was born April 23, 1938, the first daughter of John Douglas and Mary Frances Lovern Sellars, in Stewart. Ethelene grew up in the Mississippi Delta where she attended Benoit High School. She spent most of her life in the Jackson area.
Ethelene is survived by her two daughters, Juanita and Joe Bishop of Jackson and Tessa Waggoner of Brandon. Two other children, Morris Bradley Stubbs and Wonda Carroll White preceded their mother in death. Ethelene also leaves two sisters, Betty Parker of Pearl and Mary Lyle of Harrisville and brother Andy Sellars of Tennessee. Ethelene had nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service was on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood. Ethelene will be cremated at a later date, and her ashes will be laid at the feet of her father in the Flora Cemetery.
