Kathleen (Katie) Nicole Eubanks and Stephen David Ginn Jr. were wed April 21 at Bridlewood in Madison. The bride is the daughter of Cliff and Debby Eubanks of Flora. She is the granddaughter of the late Ida Lou Eubanks of Adona, Ark., and the late Bob and Irma Otto of Casa, Ark. The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Paula Ginn. He is the grandson of the late David and Ann Ginn of Gulf Shores, and the late George and Polly Earles of Jackson.
The celebration started Thursday, April 20, as the bridegroom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Georgia Blue in Madison. The couple curated a playlist specifically for the occasion, including favorites such as Jack Johnson’s “Better Together” and The Postal Service’s “Such Great Heights.” Attendees also found themselves Rick-rolled by a surprisingly funk cover of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
At 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21, the couple were married at Bridlewood of Madison. Their pastor, Dr. Josh Braddy of Broadmoor Baptist Church, officiated the service. The couple created a pre-ceremony playlist that included piano and violin covers of songs by Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and others.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a lightweight ivory lace gown with an illusion neckline and plunging back, a veil with beaded trim, and earrings borrowed from her mother. Her bouquet included hydrangeas, pink roses, and blue delphinium.
Maid of honor was Michelle Bright, and bridesmaids included CC Allgood, Mandy Bufkin, Kathryn Lopez, and Bailey Eubanks, the bride’s sister-in-law. They wore gowns in complementary shades of ice blue and dusty sage.
Azod Abedikichi was best man. The bridegroom’s brother, Michael Ginn, was a groomsman, along with Neal Carroll, Josh Maze, Sam Riden, Noah Spruell, Derek Walker, and Austin Woodward. Ushers were the bridegroom’s brother-in-law, David Harned, and the bride’s brother, Austin Eubanks.
The celebration continued with the couple’s first dance, which started slowly with Fleetwood Mac’s “Crystal,” a longtime favorite of the bride’s, then quickly transitioned to Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love,” a favorite of the bridegroom’s from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack. The bride and her father danced to “Daddy’s Little Girl” by The Shires. The bridegroom and his mother danced to a cover of Rascal Flatts’ “My Wish” by Brooke Kelly Kilgarriff.
For the remainder of the reception, guests danced to Motown-era hits performed live by RJ and the Good Time Band.
A buffet was served during the reception. The wedding cake featured two tiers of chocolate cake with chocolate filling, and two tiers of red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, with vanilla buttercream icing on the outside. The bridegroom’s cake was two-tiered and tiramisu flavored, with mascarpone cream cheese filling, vanilla buttercream icing, and a Star Wars motif. The topper was in the silhouettes of Han Solo and Princess Leia, and their dialogue was displayed on the top and bottom tiers: “I love you.” “I know.”
At the end of the night, the couple exited to a violin cover of the “Indiana Jones” theme song. After wedding trip in Jamaica, they are at home in Gluckstadt.
