Eunice House Nabors passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on December 16, 2025, where her son, Tom, had been her caretaker for the past several years. She passed away in the early morning hours on her birthday and was exactly 99 years old.
Eunice was born on December 16, 1926, to Olivia and Alonzo House in Houston, Miss. She was the youngest of six siblings and the last survivor. She lost her father to pneumonia when she was only seven years old, leaving her mother to raise and provide for the family.
She graduated from Houston High School and married James Robert Nabors of McCondy, Miss. on March 16, 1946. They later moved to Jackson where James found employment with and then later owned Jackson Linoleum & Carpet. They moved to Ridgeland in 1974 where they built a home and she has joyfully lived for the past 51 years.
She was one of the first and long-standing members of Briarwood Baptist Church. She prepared many large pulpit flower arrangements throughout those years while also teaching Bible school during the summers. She loved flowers and making flower arrangements. She was in several local flower garden clubs and won many first-place awards for her arrangements entered in flower shows. She was self-taught and loved playing the piano.
Eunice was happily married to James for 65 years until his death in 2012. She raised three wonderful sons and enjoyed being a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Eunice is survived by her three sons, Don Nabors, Tom Nabors, and David Nabors (Debbie and Rob), her granddaughter Erin Riddle (Cory) and great grandson, Connor Riddle.
