The 12th annual MadCAAP Food for Thought fundraiser was held recently at Bridlewood in Madison. The evening featured food and drinks from 30 area establishments, live music, plus a silent auction. The auction offered items such as lessons, trips, football tickets and more.
All monies raised benefit the MadCAAP program. MadCAAP assists approximately 2,800 client families living below the federally mandated poverty level in Madison County. These client families receive services through the Food Pantry, Helping Hands Garden, New Attitudes Educational Classes, Clothing Closet, Housing Repair, and Emergency Assistance programs.
The “Back to School” and “Holiday Adopt a Child” programs provide for children whose parent has completed 12 hours of educational classes. Additionally, a tutoring program is offered, VBS, STEM projects, Project H.O.P.E., and food boxes and frozen turkeys at Thanksgiving.
