In 2024, the Walgreen's company announced future closures of Walgreen's storefronts across the United States. Now, in Belhaven Heights neighborhood in Jackson, in Hinds County, one of them has remained vacated and permanently closed since February of 2025.
The store has since left its former building closed, and has since been sold to an out-of-state real estate company, who has yet to have found tenants for the building.
The store is across the street from the Chevron on North State Street at the edge of Belhaven Neighborhood and Belhaven Heights Neighborhood on the Southeast corner of Fortification Street and North State Street.
Walgreens has since removed their marketing, logos, and signage from the building and the parking lot surrounding the building.
