The Kappa Delta Jackson Area Alumnae Association (KDJAA) gathered to celebrate Kappa Delta Founders’ Day on October 23 at the Bridgewater Club House. The event was an opportunity for sisters to come together, reminisce and celebrate 127 years of Kappa Delta.
Kappa Delta was founded on October 23, 1897 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Va. Founders were Julia Gardiner Tyler Wilson, Sara Turner White, Lenora Ashmore Blackiston, and Mary Sommerville Sparks Hendrick.
KDJAA supports all five collegiate Kappa Delta chapters in Mississippi. Any alumnae of Kappa Delta Sorority and interested in connecting with fellow sisters in the Metro Jackson area, are invited to join the Facebook group- Kappa Delta Jackson Area Alumnae Chapter.
