GPD Chief George Douglas announced the arrests just before 6 p.m. on Monday, a week following the discovery of the 16-year-old’s body, however, the suspects’ names were not released at that time. Reno was discovered in “brushy overgrown area” adjacent to a residence next to Honeytown Park in the 700 block of Leigh Avenue at approximately 11:41 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 22.
Last week, Chief Douglas added that a call of shots fired was reported in the area earlier that evening. However, the cause of Reno’s death has not been released as being that of a gunshot wound.
Grenada County Coroner Douglas “Little Bobby” Yates pronounced Reno deceased at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the scene. His body was transported to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for autopsy. Results are pending.
The circumstances surrounding the case remain under investigation.
