Over the past 18 months, there has been road construction for Jackson city roads in Downtown Jackson, Mississippi.
The city roadwork has been ongoing along North State Steet between Fortification Street and Capitol Street over the last year.
Recently, several blocks of North State Street immediately north of Capitol Street in Downtown Jackson have mostly been completed and finished.
Construction to rehab State Street continues as part of a multi-phase, $29-million project of the Capitol Complex Improvement District.
“It’s our biggest investment,” said Rebekah Staples, director of the CCID Project Advisory Committee.
Much of the work between Yazoo and Capitol Street is completed. Pavement has been marked, and traffic cones have been removed between those streets along North State Street.
