Jackson chamber looking for new home

By ANTHONY WARREN,

The Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership is looking for a new home.

The partnership recently announced to its membership that it is moving out of the iconic firehouse next to Jackson City Hall and will be temporarily locating at the Regions Bank operations center on I-55 North, between Briarwood Drive and Northside Drive.

Interim President Alon Bee said plans are for the chamber to stay in Jackson. However, the agency will not begin searching for a permanent headquarters until a new president is selected.

Bee said the new facility will be provided by Regions free of charge.

The chamber currently pays about $10,000 a month in rental fees and utilities for the firehouse.

GJCP has about 1,400 members and member organizations.
