Ballet Mississippi presents spring performance
Ballet Mississippi will present its annual spring performance, Let The Ladies Dance, April 6 at 2 p.m. at Thalia Mara Hall. This year’s performance is inspired by three female choreographers - Maria Konrad, artistic director of Reach Dance Company in Tampa; Ronda Nychka, formerly of the National Ballet of Canada, and Ballet Mississippi's Associate Artistic Director Cherri Barnett. Each work is one of contrast, classicism, and artistry. To close the program, David Keary (artistic director) staged Paquita Grand Pas Classique which features variations of the classical ballerinas of the 19th century. Guest artists are 2018 USA International Ballet Competition Medalists, Tia Wenkman, and her partner Michal Wozniack of Ballet Arizona. Participating in the program are (from left, back) Ronda Nychka, Adeline Pinkerton, Faith Merkh, Kimberly Blount, Isabella Overby, Frances Madden, Aislynn McCarron, and Cherri Barnett; (front) Jordan Ann Winborne, Eden Wilson, Mary Scott Garrard, and Frances Claire Jackson. Tickets range from $19 to $29 and may be purchased at www.balletms.com.
