JA announces parking, carpool changes ahead of Sheffield paving

By NIKKI ROWELL,

Repaving on Sheffield Drive will mean changes to parking and carpool for Jackson Academy during the two-week construction period.

According to Jackson Academy officials, the Hinds County Board of Supervisors and District 1 Supervisor Robert Graham have an interlocal agreement with the city of Jackson and provided funds to complete the repaving of Sheffield Drive, Sheffield Court and Sheffield Place over the next two weeks.

To accommodate the daytime work, Jackson Academy will move all parking to one location beginning Wednesday, September 25. School security will assist with parking.

Raider Park will be closed to school-day parking until the project is complete. However, no changes are expected for after-hours events on the main campus or Raider Park.

Road closure will begin on Sheffield Drive on Wednesday, October 2, which will change Jackson Academy carpool. All drivers will enter and exit at the Ridgewood Road entrance.

Extra security and members of the faculty and staff will be on hand for carpool to ensure all children get to the proper campus location.
