The Gallery Guild of Mississippi held its spring meeting with a luncheon at the Country Club of Jackson. The featured speaker was artist Jill Steenhuis, originally from Atlanta, who now resides in France’s Provence region with her husband, Serge Ruffato and three sons.
Steenhuis has exhibited shows all over the United States and many other parts of the world. She has appeared on “Good Morning America” as the Cezanne specialist.
At the luncheon, she shared her experiences as “An Artist’s Journey in the footsteps of Van Gogh and Cezanne.” She spoke about her journey as an artist and her strong connection to Vincent Van Gogh. The event continued into the evening with a celebration of almost 100 works of art: oil paintings, lithographs and her son, Sergio’s, sculptures.
The next Gallery Guild meeting will be October 11 at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
Shown are scenes from the event.
