Gluckstadt on the Go – the new city app – is currently in the process of being launched as a resource for citizens to be involved and informed in the city of Gluckstadt.
City Clerk Lindsay Kellum has been working with a developmental team at Tyler Technologies since last February to develop the city’s 311 app. The process involved project meetings, demos and various homework tasks to get the proper information uploaded to the system in phases of implementation, but it is finally ready to go. Kellum said the app not only serves as a 311 app, but houses a wealth of information relative to the city administration.
“This app promotes civic engagement by allowing residents and business owners access to important information relative to their city, city leadership and city departments – all at their fingertips,” Kellum said. “The app’s two-way communication options keep residents informed and allows the city administration to push notifications down to users, such as road closures, severe weather, crime, notice of meetings, and more.”
It also helps users find city contacts easily as well as view documents, such as meeting notices and agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions, policies, and procedures.
“The app will also allow users to ask questions or report issues to certain departments,” Kellum said. “The requests will be streamlined and tracked through the system until resolved.”
Some key features of the app include:
History
Meet Your Elected Officials
City Departments
Board Meetings
Businesses
Report an Issue
City Calendar
Community
Latest News
Weather
This is part of Kellum’s mission for transparency that she stated upon her hiring.
“Transparency is a meaningful priority for our city administration,” Kellum said. “It is important for citizens to have access to their officials, city staff, public records and helpful information in a timely manner. Transparency is promoted through building relationships with the citizens and being able to communicate with the city on issues directly affecting them, and I am confident that the Gluckstadt on the Go app, as well as to our new city website that is pending, will allow citizens to feel more connected to their community, businesses and the local legislative process.”
Kellum said the app is very user friendly, and there is a wealth of information within it that will be updated constantly. Although the city will soon have their official website, the app will provide comprehensive two-way communication with easy access and information about the city in a quick manner.
“By placing engagement in a single app, residents will feel better connected and play a more active role in our city,” Kellum said. “Some of the highlights include the power to report issues, ask questions and monitor resolutions 24/7/365. Our staff can easily track, manage, analyze issues and service requests for response in real-time. Additionally, the 311 feature allows the city administration to actively communicate with citizens in real-time regarding emergency issues that may arise, such as bad weather or a traffic accident affecting roadways.”
Gluckstadt on the Go is free to download through your cellular app store, whether it is Apple or Google Play.
“Just search for ‘Gluckstadt on the Go’,” Kellum said. “Please keep in mind that the app is fluid and constantly updated as we add new information, new businesses, etc.”
Kellum said she is also looking for beautiful photos of the city to add to the app. If you have photos you would like to share, submit them to Lindsay Kellum at lindsay.kellum@gluckstadt.net. Kellum also said to not hesitate to reach out for assistance at 769-567-2306.
“We are in the process of launching and promoting Gluckstadt on the Go now,” Kellum said. “The citizens will see it on social media and in some local advertisements over the coming weeks. If you are a new business within Gluckstadt, please reach out to the City Administration to get your business details added to the app.”
