Julia Ann McNamara, age 65, died on July 5, 2025, at home in Ridgeland surrounded by her family. A Jackson native, she was born on June 9, 1960, the second child of Mr. and Mrs. David Franklin McNamara. Julie attended St. Richard Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. A lifelong and devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church.
She made her debut with the Debutante Club of Mississippi and did volunteer work as a member of the Junior League of Jackson. With her mother, she owned and managed Angie’s Village Hallmark Shop in Highland Village for nine years. For many years she was employed at McNa-MED, a family-owned medical supply business.
At the age of five, Julie was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and was plagued with this crippling disease for her entire life, but never let it stop her.
She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother Angela Miller McNamara; brothers, David McNamara Jr. (Susan), Will McNamara (Jamie); her sister Mary Ellen McMillon (Mike) of Collierville, Tenn., and many relatives and dear friends.
A Requiem Mass will be held at Saint Richard’s Church Saturday July 12 at 11:00 a.m. with a visit beginning at 10:00 am.
