Customers can help protect their plumbing during cold temperatures by taking basic precautions, particularly in unheated buildings or spaces such as vacant homes, garages, crawl spaces, or outdoor connections. Insulating exposed pipes and securing unheated areas can help reduce the risk of freezing.
For homes and buildings that are properly heated, maintaining consistent indoor temperatures and addressing drafts around plumbing is often sufficient during winter conditions.
