Early-bird registration available until April 1
Grace Place, a ministry at Galloway United Methodist Church, invites all to join the “Race for Grace Place” 5K Run/Walk and Block Walk, set to take place Saturday, April 11. This family-friendly event will raise funds to support the transformative work of Grace Place in downtown Jackson.
Building off the success of 2025’s inaugural race, the 2026 event kicks off near the State Capitol grounds with the 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m., followed by a Block Walk, a short race around Galloway’s block that participants can walk or run, at 9 a.m. Onsite registration begins at 7 a.m., ensuring ample time for participants to prepare and soak in the excitement. You can learn more about the event and register at.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Beyond the race, attendees can enjoy guided tours of The Foundery, the facility where Grace Place operates, and bid on one-of-a-kind items at the Grace Place Auction.
This year’s event is particularly special as we celebrate the life and ministry of Rev. Eddie Charles Spencer, who served Grace Place from 2014-2020. “God used Pastor Eddie to fill our plates and our souls; a man with a huge heart, full of God’s humble, extravagant generosity and love,” said Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Raigan Miskelly. “Every step you take helps us sustain our programs and outreach efforts.”
Grace Place serves as a beacon of hope, offering critical support and services to those in need in Jackson. Funds raised from the Race for Grace Place will directly support its mission and initiatives.
