College students and recent graduates are not the only ones having trouble paying off tuition debt. It turns out, the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (MPACT) program is in deep trouble with the tuition contracts they are obligated to meet.

A large number of corporate dental practices operating in Mississippi have been performing general anesthesia on children in their offices for a few years. These corporations operate over 15 clinics, some in Jackson, Tupelo, Biloxi and rural areas.

A recent column by Jon Pritchett of the Mississippi Center for Public Policy had some useful suggestions to promote economic growth in Mississippi. Among them were eliminating unnecessary occupational licenses and regulations that may not be helpful. Two of his suggestions though would probably reduce economic growth.
