DeAnna Rose Little McKenzie, 66, passed away on January 10, 2024, in her home, having fought a courageous battle with brain cancer. She fought the good fight and had made peace with her Lord and Savior and was ready to depart this world into the next. She was taken care of by her devoted and loving daughter, Victoria.
DeAnna was born November 28, 1957, in Oklahoma and spent most of her childhood in Ocean Springs, MS. She graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1975. After graduation, she made her way to New Orleans where she called home for more than 25 years. DeAnna met Oak at the Club at Parc Fontaine in 1983, and soon married in May of 1984.
She was a certified public accountant and worked most of her career as a financial analysist and held various other financial management positions with Entergy Corporation, first in New Orleans and then Jackson, MS. After retiring from Entergy, she enjoyed her haven of home, garden, pool, and pets. She was a very skilled craftsman and had many home DIY projects always going on.
DeAnna is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Martha Little of Clinton, MS. She is survived by her siblings: Roberta Little Brink (Jack) of Broussard, LA, Sherri Little Sentell (Rocky) of Ocean Springs, MS, and George Donald “Don” Little (Ellen) of Simpson Co, MS; her children: Shane Bush (Courtney) of Calera, AL, Dustin McKenzie (Leah) of Tampa, FL, and Victoria McKenzie McDonald (Keith) of Madison, MS; her grandchildren: Grayson, Kelley, Thomas, Carson, and Kaysee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by her family and will be missed.
Per Deanna’s wishes, there will be no services, and her ashes will be spread on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with close family and friends in attendance. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
