Elizabeth Ann Atkinson, age 47, passed away unexpectedly near her home in Daphne, AL on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was born in Memphis, TN on June 26, 1976, and grew up in both Madison, MS, and Atlanta, GA.
A devoted wife for 22 years to her husband, Russell Atkinson, Elizabeth was a wonderful and deeply cherished partner. She was also a loving and dedicated mother to her two children, Emma and Ally Atkinson. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her parents, Richard Painter (Connie) and her grandmother, Dorthea Sheffield; her sister, Brandie Lieblong (Brad); her nephew, Tyson Lieblong. She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Richard Atkinson (Betty); sister-in-law, Karen Patton; and three nieces, Whitney Maloney (Parker), Amber, and Cortney Patton; along with her beautiful grandniece, June Maloney.
Elizabeth was a graduate from The University of Georgia, and a proud sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Her professional journey was marked by much success as she began her career at Coca-Cola before transitioning to sports marketing with NASCAR in Atlanta, GA. However, her most cherished and dedicated role was that of a wife and full-time stay-at-home mom, which brought her the most incredible joy.
Elizabeth was a devout Christian with a generous heart and soul. She dedicated endless volunteer hours to her daughter's school, Bayside Academy. Known for her love of the outdoors, Elizabeth enjoyed fishing and boating with family and friends. She loved college football season and cheering on her Georgia Bulldogs. She was an avid traveler, known for her meticulous planning, her family was able to create priceless memories vacationing together. Elizabeth will be remembered by her family and friends for her unwavering faith, generous spirit, giving heart and beautiful and contagious smile.
To honor and celebrate Elizabeth, relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and service that will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at The Venue at Hidden Lake, 19437 County Road 9, in Silverhill, AL. The visitation will begin at 11 AM, followed by the service at 12 PM. Following the service, all are welcome to stay for a time to visit and celebrate Elizabeth's life.
