CLINTON, Miss. -- Rudy Wilson Polk, Jr., 52, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama. A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Jackson. A family graveside will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Wilson was born on November 11, 1970, in Jackson, the son of Rudy Wilson Polk, Sr and Patricia Ann Pittman Polk. A graduate of Woodland Hills Academy, he continued his education earning a Bachelor of Science in forestry management at Mississippi State.
Wilson worked for Batesville Casket Company for 10 years as quality control manager in the Vicksburg plant. During his career, he assisted in the construction of the casket for President Ronald Wilson Reagan. Wilson was currently co-owner of Commander Construction.
Wilson adored his family and enjoyed being with them, his family meant everything to him. Wilson was the consummate gentleman.
Recently as a friend of Wilson’s stated “the 30 plus years of knowing you were full of smiles, laughs and adventures (some of which left permanent scars) Your personality left us happier than you found us and your hugs-they were the BEST hugs and so full of love. You made us feel good and happy and cherished. You were able to laugh at yourself and make us laugh at ourselves and not take life too seriously. “This describes Wilson perfectly.
Survivors include his wife Christine Mary Johnston Polk of Clinton; son, Rudy Wilson Polk III (Will)of Clinton; daughter, Sarah Means Polk of Clinton; parents, Rudy Wilson Polk, Sr and Patricia Ann Pittman Polk; sister, Leigh Ann Polk of Madison; brother, Scott Polk and his wife, Karen of Charlotte, NC; nieces and nephews, Frances Lee, Jacquelin Lee, Brady Polk, Kinsley Polk, Alden Johnston and Ivadell Johnston, and numerous family members.
