Ruth Frances Flood, age 78 of Madison, MS, went home to her Savior on March 17, 2023. She was born in Atlanta, GA on January 17, 1945. She was a beloved mother, Grand Fran, sister, aunt, friend and child of God. Fran grew up in Atlanta where she graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in May of 1963. She was a straight A student and head majorette. Fran moved to Jackson, MS in January of 1971 where she has remained in the area now for 52 years.
Fran was an active tennis player for many years and even ranked #1 in the state in her early 40’s. She worked as a model for a variety of women’s clothing stores in the Jackson area. She also did a lot of print work as well as commercials. Fran entered the business world in the late 90’s where she eventually served as Vice-President of People Lease Insurance Co. until she retired in December of 2020. She was an active member of the Rotary Club and was named Mississippi’s top Businesswoman of the year a few years ago. Fran was involved at St. Francis Catholic Church. She will be remembered as someone who loved her boys and absolutely adored her four grandchildren. Fran was a fighter to the very end until the Lord called her home.
Fran is survived by her sons, Tripp Johnson of Madison, MS, and Todd Johnson of Clarksville, TN. Her four grandchildren, Wade Johnson of NYC, NY; Hollis Johnson of Water Valley, MS; Zach and Nathan Johnson of Clarksville, TN. Her sister Beverly Paris of Bremen, GA and brother Randy Jackson of New Orleans, LA. She also has four beautiful nieces: Michelle Jenkins, Melanie Morgan, Whitney Ford and Sabrina Brooks. Fran is preceded in death by her parents William Briggs Jackson and Ruth Todd Jackson as well as a daughter-in-law Bethany (Todd) Johnson.
