Jackson native Blake Reeves of City Collective has been chosen by Fondren Forward to work with his eight-person team to write a long range plan for Fondren.
Listen to the attached podcast for some interesting insights into the Fondren renaissance and plan for the future.
Northsider Sandy Carter raised $200,000 in private funds to pay for the long range plan. Nine firms from across the country were interviewed and City Collective was chosen.
The plan should be finished in nine months. The plan will seek input from hundreds of people about what they want Fondren to be.
"We need to create a shared vision of what we want Fondren to be," Reeves said, saying lack of planning is like getting an unwanted Christmas gift and long range planning is like a gift registry for a wedding. "Our team is excited because Fondren has so much going for it."
