We sadly announce the passing of Maureen Ann Hanna Staley, a prayerful, loving, giving, and beautiful woman, who left this world peacefully on October 4, 2025, at her home at the age of 85 years young.
Born on September 21, 1940, in Pittsburgh, she attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she met the love of her life, Clyde D. Staley. They were married June 30,1962 at Heinz Chapel on the Pitt campus and shared 63 wonderful years together.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother for 61 years, a cherished sister and aunt, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. As an educator for over 30 years, she touched countless lives with her warmth, patience, passion and dedication.
She had a joyful spirit and a creative heart—an avid bridge player, cross stitcher, and talented seamstress. She found strength and connection in her small prayer group and brought fun and laughter wherever she went.
Her faith, kindness, and deep love for her family will remain a lasting legacy.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Flowood, MS on October 25, 2025. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Alice Lloyd College Tuition Scholarships in Maureen's memory. https://alc.edu/online-donations/
