A town hall meeting will be held on Thursday, February 10 at the Ag Museum on Lakeland Drive, sponsored by Councilman Foote and the Ridgewood Park Homeowners Association.
The M-Bar has broken ground to build an $8-$10 million outdoor amphitheater. It is unclear whether the required zoning or construction approvals were obtained.
The owner, Richard Bradley, believes it will "fuel economic development and boost economic impact to the city of Jackson and the County Line Road corridor. The outdoor entertainment expansion will bring great vitality to our community".
The Mayor said, “This M-Bar expansion continues to fuel important growth in the County Line Road corridor and brings exciting vitality to our community for a bright future.”
Here's the reality:
-
If we don't stop this, the people in this area will not be able to enjoy being in their yards or on their patios without hearing loud music 4 or 5 nights a week.
-
You'll be plagued be the noise emanating from the amphitheater all the way down to Adkins and well past Pear Orchard. Noise doesn't stop at his property line.
-
Noise pollution isn't just annoying, it's bad for your health. (https://bit.ly/MBarNoisePollution)
-
There will be increased traffic and drunk drivers. With more revelers, there will likely be more gun violence. (Link: https://bit.ly/MBarShootings)
-
The lights he'll need to install will guarantee that we'll never be able to see the stars again.
-
Our homes will lose value and we won't be able to sell them.
-
There would certainly be environmental impact to Purple Creek, which flows all the way down to the Pearl River.
While he has purportedly done some great community service over the years, Richard Bradley is out of touch with what the community wants.
