Christina Grace McDaniel and John Paul Sloan were married on June 22 at six o’clock in the evening at the Plein Air Chapel in Taylor. The ceremony was officiated by The Reverend Jennifer Southall.
The bride is the daughter of Melanie McDaniel of Dallas and Russell McDaniel of Oxford. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thomas McDaniel and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Clayton Furlow Jr., all of Jackson.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Franklin Sloan of Phoenix. His grandparents are Denes Bardos and the Late Mrs. Bardos and the Late Mr. and Mrs. John Sloan, all of Memphis.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer tulle ballgown that featured a sweetheart notched neckline with a tulle bodice that was complemented by a satin trim waistline. The gown was adorned with satin covered finishing buttons along the entire length of the cathedral train. Her cathedral veil was French silk tulle.
She carried a bouquet of white peonies hand wrapped with white satin ribbon. Attached to the bouquet was a family heirloom handkerchief that had belonged to the bride’s great grandmother and grandmother.
The bride’s sister, Hayley McDaniel was her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Katie Brown, Priestly Clegg, Becca Fugett, Lindsey Fuller, Taylor Loeffel, Taylor Lowe, Annie Moss, Ellen Ossorio, Haley Ratliff, Morgan Teller, Ellen Whalen and Anna Lauren Winter. They wore gowns of steel blue and carried bouquets of pink roses and white hydrangeas.
The flower girl was Virginia Ossorio. She wore a white French handsewn dress and carried a basket of rose petals.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen included Slade Buckley, Daniel Dyles, Peyton Fendley, Jake Fugett, Baxter Geddie, Edward Lake, Patrick Oakes, Ross Robertson, Davis Rolfe, and brothers of the bridegroom, Denny Sloan, Matt Sloan and Nathan Sloan.
Grayson Hulce, cousin of the bridegroom, served as ring bearer.
Nuptial music was presented by Linna Zheng, violinist; Armee Hong, violist; and Kelsey Smith, cellist.
A reception was held at The Mill at Plein Air immediately following the ceremony, and included dinner, drinks, and dancing to the music of Memphis Soul Revue.
Following the reception, the newlyweds departed through a sparkler lit tunnel of friends and family and were chauffeured away in an antique Thunderbird convertible.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents entertained with a cocktail hour and seated rehearsal dinner at Sola Restaurant in Oxford. A bridal luncheon was held at the home of Lisa Mitchell.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple currently live in Nashville.
