Thank you to all who have reached out this morning. I am sharing the following statement from Jeremy Tinnerello, president of St. Dominic Health and Jackson market, for use in your coverage.
“St. Dominic Hospital is a beacon of healing for our community and today that sacred space was shattered by a tragic act of violence. Earlier today a team member was attacked in a parking structure on our campus. All evidence points to an isolated and targeted act; the suspect is in custody and our facility is secured.
A member of our security team was on-site and responded immediately to the attack, preventing further harm. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners and offer our deep appreciation to our security team and first responders who quickly helped to address and contain the situation.
We ask that our community continue to uplift the St. Dominic Health family in their prayers during this time."
