Mrs. Charles Willis Pickering Jr. and Dr. Douglas William Byrd of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Clardy Byrd, to Matthew Alexander Burrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Alexander Burrow of Jackson.
Miss Byrd is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hampton Creekmore Jr. of Jackson, and Douglas Magruder Byrd Jr. and the late Mrs. Byrd of Hideaway, Texas. Burrow is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dye Burrow Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Golden Sones, all of Jackson.
The bride-elect is a 2017 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She attended the University of Mississippi and graduated in 2021. She received a master’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and is currently a marketing coordinator at Texas Monthly.
The prospective bridegroom graduated from Jackson Preparatory School in 2005. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated in 2010. Burrow is an active member at First Presbyterian Church where he serves as a deacon. He is currently a political consultant and fundraiser.
The couple will exchange wedding vows March 29 at First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow at the Old Capitol Museum.
