Dr. Scott A. Carlton, Brigadier General, Mississippi Army National Guard Retired and Presiding Judge Virginia C. Carlton, Colonel, U. S Army Retired, of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter Rachel Victoria Carlton to Benjamin (Ben) Robert Morgan, son of Dr. Michael and Chris Morgan of Baton Rouge.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Frank A. Carlton and Frances Carlton Adams of Greenville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Carter of Columbia. Morgan is the grandson of the late Robert Morgan and Dr. Argiro Morgan of Mandeville, and the late Mr. And Mrs. John Bourgeois of New Orleans.
Miss Carlton graduated with honors from Jackson Preparatory School and graduated in 2018 with honors from Mississippi State University with a degree in chemical engineering. She is currently an environmental engineer with Terracon Consultants in Houston, Texas, where she assists upstream oil and gas and industrial clients with their environmental needs. Miss Carlton is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), and was named S. Texas AIChE 2024 Young Chemical Engineer of the year. She is the Young Professional Chair of the Gulf Coast Texas Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association.
The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, and Louisiana State University (LSU). He graduated LSU in May of 2020 receiving a bachelor of music education with vocal concentration, studying voice as well as conducting. He is currently a choral director and teaches AP music theory classes at Porter High School in Porter, Texas. He also directs Partner Schools Community Choir in Houston.
The wedding will be held at the Dry Creek Gatherings venue in Magnolia, Texas, June 8. Following the wedding, the couple will be at home in Kingwood, Texas.
