Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eddings Coker Jr. of Yazoo City announce the engagement of their daughter Josie Elizabeth Coker to David Alexander Turner of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charlie Cooper and the late Arie Cooper of Memphis and Robert and Linda Coker and the late Mary Coker of Yazoo City.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Alexander Turner of Jackson. He is the grandson of Tom and Jan Kotouc of Spring, Texas and the late James and the late Ellen Turner of Jackson.
Miss Coker is a 2018 graduate of Manchester Academy in Yazoo City. She graduated magna cum laude in 2022 from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders. While at Ole Miss, she was an active member of Chi Omega sorority, participant in Reformed University Fellowship, and the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. She received her master’s in speech language pathology in 2024 from Ole Miss. She is currently an SLP at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Turner was a 2019 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He graduated summa cum laude from University of Mississippi in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. While at Ole Miss, he was an active member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, where he served as vice president of judicials. He was also executive vice president of Interfraternity Council, ASB Judicial Council, and on the leadership team of Reformed University Fellowship. He is currently attends University of Mississippi Medical School where he will receive his Doctorate of Medicine in 2025.
The couple will exchange vows on December 28, at Providence Hill in Flora with reception to follow. They will make their home in Jackson.
