Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Smathers of Argyle, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Earl Conley of Northlake, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Nicole Conley to John Vann Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Adam Crawford Jr. of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren August Wheeler of Justin, Texas; the late Robert Gene Conley of Tulsa; and the late Eloise Cook Davis of Fort Worth.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lawrence Peeples of Brookhaven and Mr. and Mrs. John Adam Crawford of Jackson.
Miss Conley is a 2016 graduate of Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in accounting and Master of Accounting degree from Texas Tech University, graduating summa cum laude. At Texas Tech, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, served on the Panhellenic Executive Council and was Sigma Chi fraternity’s sweetheart. After college, she obtained her CPA license and began her career at KPMG, where she met Crawford. Currently, Miss Conley works at Embark consulting as a manager in their advisory practice.
Crawford is a 2016 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He earned his Bachelor of Accountancy and as a KPMG/MADA scholar, his Master of Accountancy and data analytics degrees from the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, he was an active member of Sigma Chi fraternity, serving as scholarship chairman. After college, he secured his CPA license and moved to Dallas, where he began his career at KPMG. Currently, Crawford is working at Riveron Consulting as a manager in their restructuring and turnaround practice.
The couple will exchange vows January 31 at 4:30 p.m. at Hotel Drover in Fort Worth, with the Reverend Tommy Overton of Park Cities Presbyterian Church officiating.
