Dr. and Mrs. Henry William Cook of Flowood announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Elizabeth Cook, to Kyle Ford Gordon Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Kyle Ford Gordon of Madison.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McCarra and the late Faye McCarra of Quitman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cook of Biloxi.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Gan Nelson of Madison and the late Dr. Fred Sandifer, and Jo Jeff Gordon and the late Dr. James Gordon of Jackson.
Miss Cook is a 2016 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and was graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While at Ole Miss, she was a member of the Barksdale Honors College and Chi Omega sorority, where she served on the executive board as recruitment chair. She is currently in her third year of dental school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Gordon is a 2016 graduate of Jackson Academy and was graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. While at Ole Miss, he was a member of the Barksdale Honors College and Sigma Nu fraternity, where he served as philanthropy chair. He is currently in his third year of medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, July 8, at the chapel at Castle Hill in Oxford, followed by a reception in the ballroom.
