Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thompson Davenport Jr. of Brandon announce the engagement of their daughter, Breelyn Nicole Davenport to David Grant Thaggard of Meridian.
The bride–elect is the granddaughter of David Sutton and Beverly Brooks Warrington of Jackson and Evone Ard Davenport and the late Joseph Thompson Davenport Sr. of Florence.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thaggard of Meridian. He is the grandson of Dot Alderman and the late W.C. Alderman of Raymond and Gary Thaggard and the late Nancy Rullo Thaggard of Madden.
Miss Davenport is a 2019 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2023 from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology. While at Mississippi State University, she was an active member of Chi Omega sorority, president of College of Arts and Sciences Ambassadors, and president of Mississippi State University’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon. She is currently enrolled at Mississippi College and will receive her master’s of physician assistant studies in May 2026.
Thaggard is a 2018 graduate of Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. While at Mississippi State University, he was an active member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, serving as vice president and Brickfire Mentoring Project.
He is currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and will receive his Doctor of Medicine in May 2027.
The couple will exchange vows on December 21 at First Baptist Church of Jackson, with reception to follow at The Old Capital Inn.
They will make their home in Jackson.
