George Wilbur Dawkins III of Mountain Brook, Ala. announces the engagement of his daughter, Carlee Amanda Dawkins, to Simms Alexander Abney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Luther Abney IV of Madison.
Miss Dawkins is the daughter of the late Lee Lefkovits Dawkins. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lefkovits and Joyce Dawkins and the late George Wilbur Dawkins II, all of Mountain Brook.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Dr. Robert Luther Abney III of Madison and the late Kay Abney and late Shirley Habeeb Abney, and Joan Caton Moore and the late Stephen Owen Moore of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a 2017 graduate of Mountain Brook High School. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. While at Alabama, she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority where she served as the vice president of recruitment. Miss Dawkins is currently living in Mountain Brook and works for Spectra Capital as the vice president of Investor Relations.
Abney is a 2019 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and commerce and received a master’s in business management in 2023. While at Alabama, Abney was a member of the University of Alabama golf team and was a graduate assistant for the golf team during his graduate year. He is currently living in Mountain Brook and works in government and commercial sales for The Bus Center.
The couple will exchange vows on April 11 on the Lyceum Lawn in Seaside with a reception immediately following.
