Margaret Estelle Palmer of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore James Duckworth of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra Margaret Duckworth, to Colby Michael Ellis.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James Young Palmer and the late Mrs. Palmer of Jackson and Grace Dove Duckworth of Jackson and James Robert Jeffries of Flowood.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Murphy Ellis of Kosciusko. He is the grandson of the late Rev. Joe Blackwell and Hilda Blackwell of Tylertown, and Eddie Ellis and the late Jewel Dean Morgan of Kosciusko.
Miss Duckworth is a 2016 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. She attended the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a minor in journalism. While at Arkansas, she was an active member of Phi Mu sorority. She is currently a social media specialist and website developer in Madison.
Ellis is a 2012 graduate of Kosciusko High School. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. While at MSU, he was an active member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He received his master’s in political science from Mississippi College in 2019. He is currently with the State Auditor’s office.
The couple will exchange vows on November 9 at the Duckworth home in Ridgeland, with a reception to follow.
