Dr. and Mrs. William Owen McCraney of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Alice Lamb McCraney, to Eric Edward Wegener Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Eric Edward Wegener of Jackson.
Miss McCraney is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leland Martin and Dr. and Mrs. Ward Thomas McCraney Jr., all of Madison.
The bride-elect is a 2018 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics and nutrition, with an emphasis in health sciences. At Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, where she served as vice president. Miss McCraney is currently living in Jackson, where she is in her final year of medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Williams Cecil Johnson Jr. and the late Dr. Johnson of Meridian, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Lee Wegener of Clarksdale. Wegener is a 2014 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. At MSU, he was a Roadrunner and a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, where he served as vice president. He is currently living in Greenville, S.C., where he is a chemical sales engineer.
The couple will be married on May 2 at Christ United Jackson, with a reception to follow at the Country Club of Jackson.
