Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Patterson McFadden of Nashville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Eleanor Blair McFadden, to Richard James Baird, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mark Darden Baird of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Trimble of Knoxville, and Miriam McFadden and the late Everette McFadden of Nashville.
Miss McFadden is a 2015 graduate of The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville and a 2019 graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received her degree in marketing. At Tennessee, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After college, she served three years as an intern with Reformed University Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. In December of 2023, Miss McFadden received her master’s in clinical mental health counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville and currently is a children’s counselor with Daystar Counseling Ministries.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Bettye Simmons Douglas and the late Richard Earl Douglas of Brookhaven and the late Dr. and Mrs. James McKenzie Baird of Brandon.
Baird is a 2013 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and went on to earn his master’s degree from the university. At Ole Miss he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. After graduation he worked for KPMG in Charlotte, N.C., before moving to Nashville to work in healthcare finance.
The couple will exchange vows December 14 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville, with a reception to follow at The Bell Tower.
