Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eugene Meeks of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Grace Meeks to John Willis Garner, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitley Garner of Ridgeland.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson Parker of Smackover, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Eugene Meeks of El Dorado, Ark. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Donald Fail of Bay Springs and Mr. and Mrs. John Argie Garner of Tuscumbia, Ala.
Miss Meeks is a 2019 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. She then attended Mississippi State University where she was an active member of the Delta Lambda chapter of Delta Gamma fraternity serving as president in 2022. She was presented by The Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2020. In 2023 she graduated Magna Cum Laude from MSU with bachelor’s degrees in marketing and French. She is now pursuing a Master of International Business at the University of South Carolina and is slated to graduate in May 2024.
Garner is a 2018 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. He then attended Mississippi State University where he was a member of the Bulldogs football team. He was also a member of the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration management in 2022. He then earned his Master of Business Administration from MSU in 2023. He works as a sstrategic purchasing agent for Motion Industries in Birmingham.
They will exchange vows on Saturday, May 25 at St. James’ Episcopal Church.
