Sallie Moseley and James Moseley of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Isabelle Hartfield Moseley, to Matthew David Pfeffer of New York City.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Joan and Warren Roper of Jackson and the late Donald and Joel Moseley of Baton Rouge. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dr. Alexandra Stern and Dr. Robert Pfeffer of New York City. His maternal grandparents are Dr. Gloria Stern and Paul Atler and Roelina VanZanten and Dr. Arnold Stern, all of New York City. Mr. Pfeffer’s paternal grandparents are the late Milton and Ruth Pfeffer of New York City.
Dr. Moseley is a 2016 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. She was awarded the Trustee’s Medal for Academic Achievement (valedictorian) and lettered in varsity soccer, tennis, track, and cross-country. In 2017, Dr. Moseley was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi. She graduated from Brown University in 2020 magna cum laude (4.0) with a double concentration and honors in both biology and contemplative studies. As an undergraduate, Dr. Moseley served as an emergency medical technician, supervisor, instructor, and ambulance driver for Brown’s Emergency Medical Service. Dr. Moseley completed Brown’s eight-year program in Liberal Medical Education graduating from Brown’s Alpert Medical School in 2024 and is currently a second year internal medicine resident at Mount Sinai Morningside/West in New York City.
Pfeffer is a 2017 graduate of The Calhoun School in New York City where he served as president of the student body and point guard on the varsity basketball team. In 2021, Pfeffer graduated from Brown University with a concentration in economics. He was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international economics honor society. Since 2021, he has worked at Troob Capital Management in Rye Brook, N.Y., where he is currently an investment associate.
An engagement party, hosted by Dr. Alexandra Stern and Dr. Robert Pfeffer, was held April 5 at the New York Athletic Club. The couple will marry October 4 at St. James’ Episcopal Church. They will reside on the Upper West Side in New York City.
