Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Shive III of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Stewart Elizabeth Shive, to William Stewart Hammons III.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Griffith Stewart of Byram and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Shive Jr. of Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart Hammons Jr. of Greenwood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Eugene Hummel of Greenwood and Thomas Edwin Hodges of Cleveland, and Mrs. William Stewart Hammons Sr. and the late Mr. Hammons of Greenwood.
Miss Shive is a 2018 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She attended Mississippi State University and graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree with a major in interior design. While at MSU, she was an active member of Delta Gamma fraternity. She is currently a commercial interior designer at the architectural firm, Goodwyn Mills Cawood in Birmingham.
Hammons is a 2016 graduate of Pillow Academy. He attended the University of Mississippi and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in chemistry. He received his master’s in history from Ole Miss in 2022. He is currently at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and is a candidate for a Juris Doctor degree in 2025.
The couple will exchange vows on July 20 at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, with a reception to follow at White Pillars.
