Mr. and Mrs. Tan Hoang Truong of Brandon announce the engagement of their daughter, Dayne Oanh Truong, to William Greg Kennedy, son of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Jeff Kennedy of Madison.
Miss Truong is the granddaughter of the late Wilson Lavel Smith and Betty Rose Smith and the late Van Nam Truong and the late Hui Thi Nguyen of Can Tho, Vietnam. Kennedy is the grandson of the late James Huggins Kennedy and the late Joanne Gilmer Kennedy, both of Gulfport, and the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Leland Byler of Jackson.
The bride-elect is a 2013 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a minor in entrepreneurship. She is currently project manager for ConvergeOne. Miss Truong is a provisional member of the Junior League of Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2014 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a bachelor of business administration in managerial finance. He received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law in 2025. Kennedy has accepted a position as an associate attorney at Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes and has also accepted a commission in the United States Army Reserve as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer.
The couple will exchange vows August 16 at Oxford University United Methodist Church in Oxford.
