Mr. and Mrs. William Russell Weatherly of Gulfport announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Grace Olivia Weatherly, to Joseph Asa Barnes, son of Walter Pat Barnes Jr. of Forest and Dr. and Mrs. William Murphy Grantham of Brandon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson Weatherly of Dallas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Donald Ladner of Long Beach.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mondell Gaddis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pat Barnes, all of Forest
Miss Weatherly is a 2019 graduate from both Gulfport High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s in communications with a concentration in public relations and received her master’s of business administration in 2022. While at Mississippi State, Miss Weatherly was an active member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was presented in 2021 by the Gulf Coast Debutante Society. She is associated with Jackson Preparatory School as social media specialist.
Barnes is a 2018 graduate of Brandon High School, and received his bachelor’s in marketing from Mississippi State University in 2022. While at Mississippi State, he was active in Kappa Sigma fraternity. He is also an Eagle Scout. He is currently associated with Puckett Machinery in Flowood as an inside sales representative.
The couple will exchange vows on May 17 at Trinity Church in Gulfport with the reception to follow at Richburg Hall in Gulfport.
The couple will make their home in Madison.
