My opinion will not endear me to the chamber of commerce or downtown association. Some will say that I have generalized Jackson’s failing condition, overlooking the cared-for and flourishing parts of the city. Perhaps, but oases in the Sahara do not make it less a desert. My perspective is based on observation.

Little Dribblers

Jackson Academy’s Little Dribblers entertained audiences at basketball games with their ball-handling skills set to music. Second graders have been participating in Little Dribblers since 1984, when the program was initiated by a former JA physical education teacher, Deborah Friday.
