Dr. and Mrs. James Henry Brown Jr. of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Allie Elizabeth Brown, to Matthew Bryan Clay, son of Doctors Jamie and Bryan Clay of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Harold Knight of Starkville and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Henry Brown Sr. of Rossville, Ga. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Frank Rogers Day of Jackson, the late Dr. Kenneth Noel Reed Sr. of Jackson, and Mrs. William Eaves Clay and the late Mr. Clay of Ridgeland.
Miss Brown is a 2016 honor graduate of Jackson Academy. She attended Mississippi State University where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She was graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Miss Brown is a nurse in the cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2016 honor graduate of Jackson Prep in 2016. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame and was a member of the Cum Laude Society. He was graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. While at MSU, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Clay is a commercial pilot with Nicholas Air out of Oxford.
The couple will exchange vows on April 24 in the Chapel at Plein Air in Taylor followed by a reception on the lawn. After the wedding, the couple will reside in Birmingham.
